Safety and Liability:
While this company and the industry as a whole have an admirable safety record, there can be inherent elements of danger beyond our control in a rafting trip. You are asked to assume responsibility for many decisions affecting your own safety. There is a risk of property loss, personal injury, or death in any waterborne activity, and you must sign a release and go at your own risk. All minors must have a release signed by the custodial parent or legal guardian. If the child is not accompanied by the parent, the release needs to be signed in advance.
Richmond Raft provides the appropriate safety equipment as needed. All participants are required to wear a PFD (personal floatation device) at all times while on the water and we require helmets on the "Lower James River" and the "Falls of the James River". Richmond Raft provides complimentary paddle jackets and wetsuits, we do not want additional costs (rentals) to be a determining factor for your comfort or safety.
Richmond Raft reserves the right to exclude from our trips anyone who we believe to be under the influence of alcoholic beverages or drugs. We maintain a zero tolerance for these issues. Anyone excluded from a trip because of alcoholic beverages or drugs will not receive a refund or be allowed to reschedule (see Reservation/Cancellation Policy).
